The What & Why of SD Marriage Services
Having been wedding professionals and officiants for over 17 years, we realize that although couples getting married now still need the same services to make it legal, you need those services offered in more flexible, personal, and convenient ways. The counties 8:00am - 5:00pm, M-F schedule for a license and bland locations for a ceremony may be ok for some… yet, we know many of you want or need something more.
We also know that many more couples, to get a more personal and special ceremony, are asking their friends or family members to officiate their wedding. Great idea yet this can, and often does, create anything from a little to a lot of extra stress, especially when combined with all the other stressors that can come with planning a wedding.

The Who of SD Marriage Services
SD Marriage Services is run by wedding pro officiants who, over the past 17 years, have married more than 1500 couples. We are different than a county office because this is our focus. With us, you are not just another, take a number, bureaucratic office in the large machine of government.
We have always known that a full-blown wedding ceremony is personal and important yet with SD Marriage Services we also wanted to add a high level of professionalism to all levels of marriage services.
We are knowledgeable and prepared so we can answer any questions you may have.

Yes, we are State of California Authorized Notaries and empowered by the County of San Diego to issue marriage licenses.

Yes, flexibility and convenience are one of our strengths vs. going to a county office. We can come to you or you can come to us (or we can meet in the middle) in San Diego, Riverside, and Orange County.
We also have marriage license issuing events on certain weeks nights and weekend days throughout the county. Check the schedule on the Services page and save a bit of money by attending one.

Not at this time, however, we are planning to offer Spanish in the very near future.
Note: the notary part of the process requires the couple to be fluent enough to understand and communicate with us, without an interpreter.
